Visitors are sadly gone

I was lucky enough to have my mom come and stay with me for 10 days after Danny arrived. I can't even imagine not having her here to help... it would have been madness!! After staying 10 days she left and then came back with my dad a week and a half later for Christmas. It was so great having them here and Ty is missing all the attention!!!
My mom and Danny.
Ty was so happy to have Grandma around to entertain him. Here they are having fun making sugar cookies... and a big flour mess. We miss having Grandma here.

My brother Keith with the boys. My brother came during the week that my mom was gone. I was so lucky to have constant help! him and Ty were so cute playing Ty's made up games. Ty is missing uncle Keith as well.

It is so great having family and friends to help. I would not have been able to do it without everyone here to help me. LOVE all the meals that were brought in and LOVE all the visitors!

Santa at Grandma's House

Santa came and surprised the kids this year and Drew's parents house. They were all sooo cute and loved getting to sit on his lap. Ty was a little shy... which is so unlike him but so happy to see him. And Danny was cute as a button of course and totally chill.

Adjusting

To put it lightly... Ty has had a rough week... much rougher than I was expecting. He has reverted back to having a binky all the time... instead of just at bed time. And he has taken to Danny's bouncy and swing... it's sad and yet kind of cute. I looked over one day to see Ty driving his trucks on Danny's face... nice. And Ty has been having melt downs over the smallest things. I'm hoping this will pass quickly and things will feel a little more normal. My mom has been here all week to help me and it has been so nice to have a helping hand. Don't know what I will do when she is gone!

Here's Danny at 5 days old. He has been a good little baby. Sleeps most of the time still and is so alert the few times he is awake during the day. He is so cute and little... I forgot how tiny they are at first! I love it when he curls up on my chest in a ball... so sweet!

At first Ty wanted nothing to do with Danny and then decided after a few days that he was wanted to hold him... and then he didn't want to put him down! He has been cute with him and wants to give him "mouth to mouth" kisses all the time... cute. And he rocks him super crazy in the swing so we have to watch him very carefully!
Love my BOYS!
I'm still healing and feeling very sore and low energy... taking things one step at a time. Breast feeding is much more of a challenge then I was expecting and I have a new found respect for women who stick with it... all I can say is thank goodness for nipple shields!! They have saved me and helped me to press on!

Danny Drew Pearson

Danny Drew Pearson
6 lbs 14 oz 21 inches long
Born November 29th at 10:02pm
Named after Danny Ainge... a former BYU basketball player... of course... and now manager of the the Boston Celtics.
His IV... so sad. They had to treat me and Danny with antibiotics because of infection they thought I might have gotten in my amniotic fluid during delivery.
First Bath.

Mom and Danny

Children under the age of 14 are not allowed to go into the hospital because of the swine and everything else going around... but the nurses are so great to come hold the babies up to the window... Drew was able to hold him up to the window as well. Ty was very excited to see baby brother at first but then was much more interested in pushing me in my wheeler chair :)

So... labor started at 3:00 in the morning on Sunday. It progressed very quickly and by 10:30 that morning I couldn't bare the pain any longer and although my contractions were inconsistent sometimes 6 min apart and other times 2 min apart... we finally went in to the hospital. I was so afraid they were going to send me home but they checked me right away and I was already to a 5... so I got to stay... yeah!! Everything went great I progressed very quickly and by 3:30 I was fully effaced and at a 10... ready for baby!
My regular midwife had been out of town for Thanksgiving but was on his way home. He really wanted to be there to deliver my baby so the nurses asked if I wanted to just chill and let the baby descend until he could get there. His fill in midwife had been with me and stayed with me until he arrived.
An hour and a half later he arrived so the pushing started... yeah!! ...until 3 hours later... and there was no progress... Danny was turned sideways and posterior and wasn't coming and apparently I have a small pelvis... all combined was a bad situation. We could see his little head... but it wasn't enough to use forceps or vacuum. After a Dr. came in and examined the situation they determined there was no other option and so they wheeled me away and took him by C-section.
Although a C-section was the last thing I was wanting I didn't care how he got here... I wanted him here safely.
Drew was able to see him be born and was able to be with him as they cleaned him up and checked him over. It was so sweet to have Drew bring him to to me while I lay on the table. It was sad that I couldn't hold him... and minutes after I saw him they knocked me out with drugs cause I couldn't stop shaking. I was able to hold him the next morning when I woke up and loved this cute little man right away. I still look at him and can't believe he was the little baby I've been feeling inside me the last several months. We've had a great time together in the hospital these last few days but we are all so happy to be home!!

Bed Rest

This last Monday I was put on bed rest after my apt didn't go so well because of high blood pressure, super swollen face, hands and feet, and lots of protein found in my urine. ...fun fun I know. I've had to go in every other day to get checked and so far I am borderline being induced... but bed rest is preventing that... so far. Less than two weeks until my due date!!! The good news is that I am 70% effaced and dilated to a two... so we are all hoping he comes a little early on his own so I don't have to continue on this bed rest!
In the mean time this is how Ty has felt about me being on bed rest and unable to play with him like I usually do! ...oh and we cut his curls after a lady in a store called him princess like 10 times! ... we decided it was time.
And the belly just keeps on growing!! I had know idea what uncomfortable was until now!
Luckily these two make me smile and Drew has been so great to help out with keeping the house up and entertaining this little ball of energy! Love these two!

And little baby boy... who your dad and brother like to call baby Harvey... I can't wait to meet you.

Ty's prayers...

So... Ty has been saying his own prayers before bed each night the last couple of weeks and sometimes even wants to before he takes his afternoon nap... so cute... and this was his prayer last night...

"Heavenly Father, thank you for mommy, thank you for daddy, thank you for mommies baby brother, thank you for Ty, thank you for grandma and papa, thank you for cougars, thank you for basketball, thank you for cosmo (BYU's Mascot), please bless Ty sleep good... Jesus... AMEN!!"

Ha ha ha... maybe it's because he's mine little man but I thought this was hilarious... and so sweet at the same time.

Also... he has a book that has a picture of a cougar in it and whenever he gets to that picture he says, "GOOOO... Cougars!" ... So funny... it's on the video.

His dad hasn't been teaching him anything about being a BYU fan :)
