Happy Birthday Drew!!

Drew turned 28 today... ya ya I know I'm older than him... and he never lets me forget it! But.. I'm older and wiser right... well... not to much wiser... lets just say I'm happy he handles our finances! :)
The day was great... at least I hope he thinks so! Dinner at Cheescake Factory and Better then "Kissing" for a birthday cake... you can't go wrong. I filled the house with 28 balloons... each with a different number inside that went to 28 different little fun gifts. He got to pop them throughout the day and open something. His main gift was a new snowboarding jacket.
Happy Birhtday Drew! I love you and I'm so happy I've been able to celebrate these last few birthdays with you.

A week with Two!

So... Drew and I decided a while back that when Ty turned one we would start talking about how we would bring baby number two into our lives... may seem fast to some of you but it takes us much longer than the average to bring a baby into our family.
Well... this week we had so much fun watching Sophie for our friends Amanda and Tom while they took a vacation to Washington DC and we got a taste of having two little babies. And it was so much fun! I would actually have to say that two was often times easier than one... except when nap times didn't coordinate.
They were so much fun to watch and Ty loved having a buddy to play with. He would follow Sophie around like she was Queen... it was so cute.... wish Drew did that to me :)!
Here they are on their matching firetrucks. They were on these like 50% of the time and loved sitting on them while watching a movie.
They always had to play with the same toy. Sometimes that got a little ugly.
And of course always found something to get into together... here they are in our game cupboard... playing with a deck of cards.
So... I debated about posting this picture. While I took a shower one morning I let these two play in our bedroom. I came out to find them in Drew's sock drawer, my make-up and underwear drawers... yes... Sophie is actually wearing my pink underwear.
It really was a fun week with these two. I actually found myself with some free time while they entertained each other.

Happy First Birthday Ty Guy!!

My little guy turned one today... where has this year gone?! I can not believe how life gets faster by the minute. It feels like yesterday that he was to small for his "newborn" outfits and here he is practically a man! ... well okay I'm exaggerating a bit. But seriously... slow down life... I'm still getting used to the idea that I'm a mom! Now I have a one year old!

Ty is on his way to walking... takes  three or four steps and then face plants onto the floor. Says "Mom" ... used to be to me only but now he calls all people "mom" when they have something he wants. He is a total crack up and gets the giggles all the time... just like his mom. He loves to eat... oh wait I mean SHOVE food into his mouth. He's totally into fun toys, dancing, and other little kids. He is the best little guy and I fall more in love with him everyday.
His cute little football cake.. no I didn't make this... but isn't it sooo cute!!

We partied hard at Drew's Aunt and Uncles house. They have an amazing house with a pool in the back yard... lots of fun.
It was so much fun having our friends and family there to celebrate with Ty.

Singing Happy Birthday with Drew and Ty's little cousins and friends to help carry the cake.

After the party was over and we were playing at home... Ty was loving all his new toys! Here he is on his super cute fire truck from Sophie and Bree... and Tom and Amanda... that he is addicted to.

Dots N' Daisies

So a couple of months ago my friend Amanda and I started making these cute wood block letters to decorate our homes. We had several people comment on how cute they were and encouraged us to make and sell them. Amanda's aunt was interested in selling them in her store... she owns the Paisley Pomegranate in Salt Lake... it's a super chic boutique. So we made a bunch to sell in her store and started a blog site just to see how things went and the reaction to our product.

Anyways, it has been about two months and they have been doing really well... especially custom orders from Paisley Pomegranate and from awesome family and friends...Thank you Thank you and Thank you!... We really appreciate the support:)

Last week we also received a call from a sells rep for boutiques and she loves our product and wants to rep for our business. What does this mean? Well it is really exciting because she sells to 27 stores and everything is wholesale so we wouldn't have to wait for things to sell we would just receive orders and such. We are really excited to get this going.

Some of you all have already seen our stuff and have been such Angels for putting our website link on your blogs. We appreciate any advertising and you would be shocked at how many visits we get to Dots N' Daisies from friends and family blogs.

Or if you click on Dots N' Daisies on my sidebar it will take you to our blog.

Amanda's husband Tom has been working really hard on a website that should be up and running soon... I will put it on when it is completely finished. As well as working on a catalog to make choosing colors and paper for your letters easier.

This has been so much fun and I feel like I have a creative outlet that gives me sanity!! If you haven't already, check our site out, but remember the letters are cuter in person so if you're in the area come check them out. Also there is a friends and family discount... so take advantage of it! Contact me if you see something you like our want something made... like your child's name... anything really! We can match colors to bedrooms, or any room in the house you just have to tell us the colors and style you like.

I would love your input either on Dots N' Daisies Blog or my blog on things you like... dislike and any ideas you have that could help our business grow and be successful.

Thanks!!

A few of Ty's favorite things

There are some things that I especially hope to never forget about my little guy. Things that melt my heart or crack me up when he does them... here are two.... one of Ty's favorite things these days is to blow raspberries on any surface he comes across... including the table, floor, chairs, the oven door, fridge, and my leg... but his favorite is the leather ottoman... I think cause it makes extra loud noises. The other is playing with door stoppers until the fall off... I find them all over the house and half the time have no idea what door they belong to. I had to catch him on video so I can always remember how he made me laugh when he'd do these small and simple things.

Inna & Alina came to visit

I've been terrible at reading posts these last three weeks... so sorry! ...being out of town and then my 17 year old twin sisters ...Inna and Alina... came to visit me for the last two weeks. Well... it was supposed to be for eight days but their flight ended up being canceled so they stayed an extra 6 days!! Which I was so happy about because we have a great time together. We had so much shopping and going to the movies... boating... Temple Square... the zoo. I love it when these girls are around... they make me feel young again. Now I'm so sad they are gone!

An amazing trip to Temple Square. We spent the entire day here. A Sister Missionary from Ukraine gave us a tour and talked to the girls in Russian the entire time. They told me that she told them the story about how someone gave her a book of Mormon, she read it, and it changed her life. We watched the Testaments in Russian as well. They had such a great time... they weren't wanting to leave.

We had so much fun going boating... both the girls tried wake boarding for the first time and did great... they both got up and had a blast. ...this is Inna wake boarding.
Alina wake boarding.
And of course fun on the tube... until someone gets hurt!!

P.s. for those of you who don't know my parents adopted these girls from the Ukraine about a year and half ago. They didn't know any English when they first came here. They have been so much fun to have in our family.

Funny things Ukrainians say... do...
1. I came home to them watching the Spanish channel...
2. They saw a picture if me with my pierced belly button (...back in the day) and said "baby problem?" (they thought maybe that was the reason I've had trouble getting pregnant)
3. When I pushed the garage door opener in my car to open the garage they were fascinated .... "how?!!" as they pointed to the opening garage. And then fought over who got to push it each time we came home. :)
4. As they see me filling my cup with Diet Coke... "Diet... make you skinny?" ...ummmm ya .... sure it will!
5. Trying on clothes... when something is to small they say "it's to tiny" and when something is to big they say "it's to huge" ... I love it... it's so cute!
.... I will add to the list as I think of them... I want them to be able to read these when they get older.
