Ty's One-Year-Old Photos

How cute is this little man! He had his pictures taken by the same girl who took his six month old and sealing pictures back in March. ...Alaina... Digital Darkroom ... it's listed on my favorites.
We went to Wheeler Farm and got some really cute shots of him.
He looks so posed... but we really didn't "pose" him.

There's somthing about Ty in Ties that I absolutly love... maybe it has something to do with his name... I da' know... but I love this kid in a cute Tie... even if it is with jeans!

Okay... this one cracks me up! Mostly because this is the face he makes when he's yelling "MOM" ... when we needs me for attention purposes only.

Such the man... waiting for his lady.

A Week in Mead

We had a fabulous week on a houseboat in Mead. Every year for like the past 10 years or something Drew and his high school buddies take a trip to either Lake Powell or Lake Mead. Now that most of the friends are married, the wives and kids get to come along... Lucky us! It is great to get away from work... household chores... and cell phone service! through the years the number of people who can make seems to dwindle... people get busy and money gets tight... but we have a great time with whoever can make it.

Ty and his girl Sophie helping drive the boat.

Ty even got to do some wake boarding with Dad!!
So... I was out swimming one morning for a work out and I see in the far distance the jet ski coming towards me... but I didn't see any one riding it... until it got closer and there was Ty driving the jet ski with Drew ducked down below him so I couldn't see him... it was the funniest thing... to see Ty driving by himself... and happy as could be.
The first few days of the trip were a bit cold and windy... but Ty still loved and wanted to go for wave runner rides. .... here I am taking him on a run... we're bundled in sweatshirts under our life jackets! ...but we still had fun.
Ty had such a great time. We took him last year when he was only a month old... so this year it was so fun to watch him pay and fall in love with the wave runner and jet ski... he could play on them all day.
The boy did lots of fishing... this year with scuba gear and a spear. ...Don't you love Koby as Scuba Steve!!

Fishy Lips.... the entire trip!!
Lots of fun playing in the sand.
Except sand and chocolate chip cookies don't mix... but then again try telling that to Ty!

Family photo
Okay... so Tom, Koby and Drew all started a contest the week before the trip to see who could grow the best mustach... Boys can be so weird. ... I think Tom totally won this one.

Fishy lips

So... just picture 'Donkey' in Shrek II... I think when he's on the back of the carriage when Shrek and Pheona are on there way to the Kingdom of Far Far Away... and Donkey won't stop talking... and then starts making a funny popping noise... this is Ty with his new thing... fishy lips. My mom taught him how to do this when we went to visit in August but just recently it has been his new favorite thing... mostly in the car when no one is talking. He does it CONSTANTLY... but I love it... it cracks me up.

This isn't the best video of him doing it... but you get the idea.

Ty's walking and finally got some teeth!

The same week that Ty turned one he also started walking and finally got some teeth! ...three teeth to be exact... all at the same time. You can barely see it in this picture but there is a little cute tooth poking up on the bottom. He also has his two front teeth coming in.
... now if he can just get some hair... then he won't seem so much like a little old man!

It is so fun watching Ty walk around everywhere. He is still so wobbly and falls down all the time but we are so happy for him. I loved the process he took in getting to this point and how scared and excited he was when he first started taking steps on his own.

Happy Birthday Drew!!

Drew turned 28 today... ya ya I know I'm older than him... and he never lets me forget it! But.. I'm older and wiser right... well... not to much wiser... lets just say I'm happy he handles our finances! :)
The day was great... at least I hope he thinks so! Dinner at Cheescake Factory and Better then "Kissing" for a birthday cake... you can't go wrong. I filled the house with 28 balloons... each with a different number inside that went to 28 different little fun gifts. He got to pop them throughout the day and open something. His main gift was a new snowboarding jacket.
Happy Birhtday Drew! I love you and I'm so happy I've been able to celebrate these last few birthdays with you.

A week with Two!

So... Drew and I decided a while back that when Ty turned one we would start talking about how we would bring baby number two into our lives... may seem fast to some of you but it takes us much longer than the average to bring a baby into our family.
Well... this week we had so much fun watching Sophie for our friends Amanda and Tom while they took a vacation to Washington DC and we got a taste of having two little babies. And it was so much fun! I would actually have to say that two was often times easier than one... except when nap times didn't coordinate.
They were so much fun to watch and Ty loved having a buddy to play with. He would follow Sophie around like she was Queen... it was so cute.... wish Drew did that to me :)!
Here they are on their matching firetrucks. They were on these like 50% of the time and loved sitting on them while watching a movie.
They always had to play with the same toy. Sometimes that got a little ugly.
And of course always found something to get into together... here they are in our game cupboard... playing with a deck of cards.
So... I debated about posting this picture. While I took a shower one morning I let these two play in our bedroom. I came out to find them in Drew's sock drawer, my make-up and underwear drawers... yes... Sophie is actually wearing my pink underwear.
It really was a fun week with these two. I actually found myself with some free time while they entertained each other.
